How you do anything is how you do everything.
- You wake up in the morning and leave your bed messy; it is very likely your desk at the workplace is messy.
- You walk into the restroom in your office, and you notice one of the doorknobs is broken. Do you do something about it, or do you just go about your chores without bothering? If you don’t pay attention to the small details, you are likely not very good at paying attention to the details in important matters.
- A junior team member approaches you with a small problem. Do you help resolve the problem, or do you ignore saying you have more important issues to deal with? If you are not very good at fixing minor issues as a leader, you will likely be ineffective in dealing with the more significant problems that need your attention.
- You go to a restaurant, and someone in the serving staff makes a mistake. Do you let the mistake pass, or do you get rude and aggressive with the person dealing with you? If you are rude and aggressive with strangers, you likely have the reputation of a rude and arrogant person in your workplace too.
