Hey, You Got A Minute?

You got a minute

I am from the world of B2B fintech sales, where we live and breathe process—pipelines, trackers, and updates. And for good reason. The process is necessary for structure. It keeps us efficient and predictable.

But innovation? That doesn’t come from process.

The real breakthroughs happen in the margins—an impromptu call at 10:30 p.m. because someone on the team just connected two dots. A hallway conversation after a client meeting that ends with, “Wait, what if we flipped the entire approach?” A WhatsApp message that spirals into an ad hoc group call because someone’s figured out a smarter way to underwrite thin-file SMEs.

Some of our best ideas come not from quarterly reviews but from curiosity-fueled side chats that weren’t on anyone’s calendar.

Process is essential—but we have to leave room for serendipity and chance. That’s where the spark is.

Not everything happens because of a schedule. Sometimes, progress begins with “Hey, you got a minute?”
