We spend a lot of life looking for maps.
Tell me what to do. Give me the steps. Show me the right answer.
Maps are useful when the destination is clear, and the terrain is familiar. They show us routes that are already understood.
But much of life is not like that.
Careers change. Relationships evolve. Technology shifts. Sometimes we do not even know exactly what problem we are trying to solve.
On ground like that, a compass matters more.
A good question. A clear value. A principle you trust. Something that helps you choose a direction when there is no obvious route.
AI is making answers easier to find. It can suggest what to do, how to do it, even what might happen next.
But it cannot decide what matters to you, what you value. What you are willing to give up. What you would regret.
AI can help you find a route. Deciding where you want to go is still your job.
