Once upon a time, a priest on a walking tour in pre-revolutionary Russia was confronted by a soldier as he entered the town. The soldier pointed his bayonet at the priest and called out,
- Who are you?
- Where are you going?
- Why are you going there?”
The priest was unfazed. Instead of responding to the questions, he calmly asked the soldier, “How much do they pay you?”
Taken aback at the question, the soldier instinctively replied, “10 Roubles a month.”
Reflecting on the soldier’s response, the priest, in a deeply contemplative manner, said, “Can I propose something to you? I’ll pay you twenty roubles every month if you stop me here every day as you have done today and challenge me to respond to those same three questions.”
