Life rewards action, not intelligence.
We often put intelligence on a pedestal, thinking it’s the key to success. But the truth is that smart people are usually the best at making excuses.
They can talk themselves out of anything, convincing themselves that every action is too small, too insignificant.
The reality is, you don’t need to do everything. You just need to do something. One thing, then another, and another. That’s how real progress happens.
You start to see results when you consistently take action, week after week, month after month. Even if your initial efforts are clumsy, they are still valuable learning experiences. Discipline is the key to consistent action.
But how do you know if you’re truly disciplined? Track your progress.
- Want to be a better writer? Count your words daily.
- Want to be a better salesperson? Track your sales calls.
- Want to run a marathon? Count your steps.
At first, it might feel like you’re not making much headway. But as the days turn into weeks and months, you’ll start to see the payoff.
The irony is that much of the effort is in the mind more than in the action. The key is to be dead honest with yourself and avoid the trap of thinking you’re doing enough just by thinking about it.
Paradoxically,I feel, action is the real measure of intelligence !!
