Ambition Vs Commitment

ambition vs commitment

Your commitment has to be in sync with your ambition.

You want to be fit? Then you have to accept the discipline and the trade-offs that come with it.

You want the title and the seniority at work? Then you also have to accept the responsibility, the difficult decisions, the pressure, and the effort that come with the role.

It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it.

Sometimes the wiser choice is to temper your ambition to the commitment you are willing to make. The less the gap between your ambition and your commitment, the less you will be disappointed.

Wanting something is easy.

But it is useful to ask yourself, “Am I willing to pay the price that comes with it?”

Answer that honestly, and you either commit fully or let go cleanly.

Both are better than being stuck in between.
