Why Isn’t It Working?

Why isn't it working

When I was your age, I worked all day. I showed up everywhere. I travelled at short notice. I stayed late. I did whatever it took.

So when I hand someone an opportunity today, a part of me expects the same. I expect presence. Ownership. Commitment.

And when they log off early at their own time, it feels like a letdown.

But that’s the trap.

The more ambitious you are, the easier it is to assume everyone else should move at your speed. You measure their effort against your instincts. Their choices against your standards.

Here’s the truth: Here’s the truth: everyone operates from their own wiring, their own context, their own definition of enough.

The friction begins when we expect our way of working to be the way of working of everyone else.

The moment you stop expecting others to be you, the frustration fades.

You stop feeling betrayed.

And you start leading from clarity instead of comparison.
