Focus On The Important

Warren buffet says it nicely- the thing that will prevent you from achieving your most important goal/objective is not the unimportant stuff. It’s is the stuff that seems and feels important enough for you to get distracted from you primary objective.

This phenomenon plays out in our work lives often.

⁃ A gig that seems appealing as a back up but sucks away energy and focus from your core job.

⁃ Non value adding customers you take on thinking they are good for your business but the end up taking up disproportionate resources.

Whenever you come across something that feels like it is important, just ask yourself this important question- “Will this get me closer to my primary goal?”
