If you want to get very good at something, you must find ways to remove the obstacles, distractions, and other irritations that hinder you from working on your craft. Eliminate the unimportant.

Top performers devote as much time as possible to what matters and as little time as possible to what does not. 

You cannot rely on others to create the conditions for your success. Your choices are entirely in your hands. You have to actively work towards eliminating the things that are not important from your workload. If you haven’t figured out how to do that, you aren’t truly mastering your craft.
