Clarity Comes From Action
August 29, 2022
A common problem I observe is people struggling to take the first step because they worry they aren’t ready. In their minds, there’s always something more they need to learn, think about, or plan for. Because of this, they put off taking action because they are afraid they will “get it wrong” or “not be on top of everything.” They want to do something but are unsure where to begin or how to do it.
I have a simple suggestion for anyone struggling to take the first step.
Taking action always leads to clarity.
It’s like learning how to drive a car. If you’ve never driven a car, you have only an idea of what it feels like. Driving teaches you more about how to drive than any theory ever could.
So if you don’t know how to code, start coding to solve simple problems. You will learn how the syntax works better than any book can teach you.
If you want to learn how to sing, learn by humming short tunes. You will understand musical nuances better than any tutor can teach.
If you want to play golf, go to a golf course, take a few clubs on rent, and start swinging. You will get a feel for the game and know what you need to do to learn the game.
When you take action, you will gain clarity about what you want to do and how you will pursue your goals. Clarity always follows action !!
