Be Aware Of What You Consume

A couple of weeks back, I wrote about the advice I gave to my son as he started university. I told him to be mindful of the company he keeps because we tend to become like those we spend time with (You Become The Company You Keep).
Today, I want to expand on that point and say that we become what we consume. The books we read, the news we watch, the podcasts we listen to, and the social media we follow- they are all the raw materials that shape our thoughts and influence who we become.
If we seek out high-quality inputs, we will have better raw materials to work with in the future. When we access high-quality sources of input, we make better choices than anyone consuming low-quality information sources.
Similarly, the food we eat is also an input for our bodies. Eating healthy makes us more likely to lead healthier lives with fewer health problems.
So, it’s essential to be aware of what we consume in terms of information and food. By being conscious of what we consume, we can shape our lives positively and become the best versions of ourselves.
