What Does The World Think Of Me?
February 28, 2021
All of us lead our lives in the main, worrying about what people think of us.
American Philosopher Charles Cooley said something amazingly intuitive.
I am not who I think I am,
I am not who you think I am,
I am what I think you think I am.
Every day we live in the shadow of someone else’s opinion of us. We allow the world to define for us what success is, what failure is, and we end up placing ourselves, our decisions, our happiness in the hands of someone else.
Guess what? The world does not care. The people around us don’t owe us anything, not their time, attention, or money. And, yet, we give the world and the people more importance than they deserve when we step into work every day, thinking, “what does the world think of me?”
Don’t let the worry about how others might see you define your perception of yourself. Be yourself !!
