Three Ideas On Dealing With Criticism

dealing with criticism

When you show up to do something meaningful, there will always be some people around you who will have negative views about what you are doing. You need to be comfortable ignoring the critics and naysayers. Here are three beautiful ideas I have picked up on dealing with criticism.

The poorest way to face life is to face it with a sneer. A cynical habit of thought and speech, a readiness to criticize work which the critic himself never tries to perform, an intellectual aloofness which will not accept contact with life’s realities—all these are marks, not of superiority but of weakness.

Theodore Roosevelt

If you’re not in the arena also getting your ass kicked, I’m not interested in your feedback. If you have constructive feedback you want to give me, I want it… But if you’re in the cheap seats, not putting yourself on the line, and just talking about how I can do it better, I’m in no way interested in your feedback.

Brene Brown

If an idea is true, criticism will not destroy it, but strengthen it.
