Thinking Big Vs. Thinking Small

Recently, I was with a young colleague and our conversation veered towards the idea of thinking big.

My young colleague had a pertinent question.

Someone is looking to acquire wealth, so, to that person thinking big makes sense. They have something to aspire for. Someone else may have all the material comforts they desire and therefore they are not ambitious. How can they think big when they have everything?

My friend had me thinking.. instinctively I responded with my definition of Thinking Small vs Thinking Big.

Thinking small is when someone is always thinking of themselves- their immediate needs, their comforts , well being and their own emotions. It’s all about “ME”.

Thinking big is when someone is thinking beyond themselves- about the big picture, about others, about possibilities. The farther someone thinks beyond themselves , the bigger is their thinking !!
