Both Can Be True
October 13, 2026
Some of life’s hardest decisions come from the fact that two opposing things can be true at the same time.
You can trust your team and still verify the details.
You can be confident in a decision and remain open to being wrong.
You can put the customer first and still say no to something the customer wants.
You can persist with something important and still recognise when it is time to change direction.
We often look for the comfort of choosing one side. Right or wrong. Stay or leave. Push or stop.
But experience has taught me that good judgment often lives in the tension between the two.
You do not resolve that tension. You manage it, every day, as the situation moves.
