Keep Emotions At Bay When Making Decisions
December 23, 2022

Here is a simple mental exercise.
Think back and make a list of the worst decisions you’ve made so far in your life or career.
What is common with all these?
I am willing to wager that almost all of your worst life or career decisions happened in one of these two scenarios.
- You were under some intense pressure or stress, or
- You decided without investing time in thinking about the consequences.
Always remember that decisions and choices we make when under some emotional influence- no matter stress or excitement- are likely flawed.
Good decision-making is ultimately about slowing down and being objective without letting your emotions influence your thinking. The more you build awareness around this reality, the better your decision-making quality will be.
