When You Are Not In Control
October 22, 2025
There are moments in life when you find yourself standing beside someone you love, watching life unfold in ways you can neither control nor fully comprehend. You’re there, present, but powerless — while the world around them hums with urgency, precision, and expertise.
It’s a strange feeling — this collision of helplessness and gratitude. You want to do something, but sometimes, the kindest thing you can do is nothing. Just be there. Hold the silence. Offer presence and prayer instead of answers.
In a world that trains us to act, fix, and solve, there’s a quiet kind of strength in simply being. To trust the process, the people, and something larger than yourself.
That’s what I’m learning this week — the value of being still when your heart wants to act.
