Weekend Story-The Blind Man’s Lamp

blind man's lamp

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a man who was blind. Every night, whenever he stepped out, he carried a lighted lamp in his hand.

One evening, as he was walking home after dinner, he crossed paths with a group of young travellers. They noticed his lamp and began laughing.
“Hey, old man,” one of them called out, “you’re blind! You can’t see a thing. Why carry a lamp?”

The blind man smiled and said, “Yes, I am blind and can’t see anything. But this lamp isn’t for me—it’s for others like you. So you can see me coming and not bump into me.”

The travellers fell silent, their laughter fading. They bowed their heads and apologized.
