To communicate effectively is one of the most important life skills we all need to invest in.
Many times in life, it is not enough if you do something well. How effectively you communicate what you have done is also important.
Communication is the process of expressing yourself to others to create impact and elicit an action in response to the message you convey.
Teacher, Manager, Mentor, Coach, Doctor, Actor, Singer, Software engineer, or for that matter a youngster looking for a date- It does not matter who you are and what you do, you should be able to communicate effectively.
The only way anyone can learn to swim is by swimming. The same logic applies to communication too. You become a good communicator is when you make an effort to show up and express yourself and your ideas at every opportunity.
When you communicate with impact you have the power to influence others to take action. It could be to persuade, influence, inspire, motivate, negotiate, or create an impact.
You need to have the intention and willingness to express yourself.
Don’t sit in the shadows. Make yourself visible. Go out and engage your environment. Understand that in this era, you can’t achieve professional growth if you don’t communicate effectively.
Robin Sharma said it well- We are all in the communication business !!
