Don’t Reinvent The Wheel

If you want to solve an intractable problem you have never encountered before or achieve an entirely new goal, here is a pro tip.  

Don’t waste your time trying to reinvent the wheel.

Instead, find a great ‘wheel’ you can adopt for yourself. Go, search for, and find people who have solved a similar problem or achieved a similar goal. Look at what they have done and then reverse engineer their approach to your situation.

This approach is compelling because it doesn’t require you to be unusually original, unusually creative, or unusually smart. All it needs is for you to be willing to look and learn from what others have done before you. 

Best of all, you can follow the process knowing- instead of hoping- that your efforts will pay off.
