Five Types Of Effort
May 29, 2024
We all know the saying, “You get out what you put in.” But what you “put in” can look very different depending on the situation. Shane Parrish of Farnam Street highlights this point in a recent Blogpost outlining five distinct types of effort required to achieve results.
1. Outthinking- (a better strategy, a shortcut)
2. Pure Effort (working longer, intensity)
3. Opportunistic (positioning yourself to take advantage of change)
4. Consistency (doing average things for longer)
5. Focus (saying no to distractions)
The most important factor? Matching the right kind of effort to the situation you are grappling with.
So, the next time you face a challenge, remember – there’s more than one way to plow a field. Choose the right kind of effort that best suits the situation, and that’s when you will see the right results coming through.
