Weekend Story-The Smart Boss

An executive worked for a very demanding but smart boss who had a way of getting his team to stretch themselves in the tasks he assigned them.
Once, the boss wanted the executive to work on an important report. The executive worked on the report for days and eventually submitted it to the boss, hoping for an appreciation for the work done.
Within an hour of submitting the report, the boss returned it with a bold notation on the first page: “Is this the best you can do?”
The executive was bemused. “The boss is seeing some gaps in the report,” he thought.
He rewrote and polished the first version and finally submitted it; back it came with the same curt question: ” Is this the best you can do?”
After refining and redrafting the content of the report one more time- and once again getting the same question from his boss, the executive snapped, exasperated, ” Boss, Yes, this is the best I can do !!”
“Fine, then I guess I’ll read the report this time,” the smart boss said with a wink.
