Longevity Isn’t An Accident
May 22, 2025
I’ve been thinking about this idea a lot lately.
When I left a cushy senior role in a global bank to set up an international business from scratch, I knew it would be hard—but I didn’t quite grasp how much it would test me.
Over the past 5–6 years, I’ve experienced it all: moments of exhilaration, gut-wrenching lows, unexpected wins, and tough failures.
What I’ve realized is this—if you’re not thinking long term, and if you’re not connected to a deeper purpose, it’s incredibly hard to last.
Success in anything meaningful—business, sport, even personal growth and health—rarely comes from hacks or quick wins. Those may get you a head start, but they won’t take you the distance.
What does? Mindset. Purpose. Resilience.
The ability to show up when it’s no longer exciting.
To endure when the rewards are not there.
Longevity isn’t luck. It’s a decision. And it’s built one tough day at a time.
