Over the past few days, I’ve had a few conversations with younger colleagues—driven, ambitious, and eager to make their mark. One thought I shared with them kept coming up:

(This was a quote I came across somewhere recently, and on checking, it is attributed to Frank Ocean, a singer and songwriter.)

It’s tempting to broadcast effort—posting progress, talking about hustle, seeking validation. But the real game is played quietly. In the long run, it’s outcomes that speak loudest, not intentions.

The best professionals I’ve seen are low on drama and high on delivery.

They don’t chase praise or validation. They chase progress.

So keep your head down. Do the work. Build the track record. Because when the results show up, you won’t need to announce it—everyone will know, and your rewards will naturally follow !!
