What is the role of money in our lives?

When I was young and impressionable, I used to think that the purpose of money was to help me acquire assets- Buying a big house, a car, an experience like a holiday, an expensive watch, etc.

But as I grew wiser, I realized that the role of money and wealth is to help me buy something much bigger- my freedom.

It is a tool that buys me the ability to do whatever I want to do, whenever I want to, without being constrained by anyone or anything.

What does freedom mean for you? If you can answer that question for yourself, you will know very precisely what you want to do with your money. What to buy, what not to buy, how much to spend, how much to save.

Money buys us freedom, and freedom is what we all unconsciously seek in our pursuit of happiness.
