Significant Work

For us to do any significant work involving emotional labor that others cannot replicate, we need to show up with courage and vulnerability.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear; It’s a willingness to do things that are so important they’re worth doing even(especially) when we feel the fear.

Vulnerability in conversation means having the strength to express your thoughts and feelings, even when you are afraid.

Both courage and vulnerability represent strengths that are essential for delivering substantial work. Putting it differently, if the work you do does not demand you to exhibit courage or vulnerability, it is very likely that the work you are doing is not very significant.
