Friday Wisdom-Taking Feedback

taking feedback

I recently chanced upon two insightful messages by Kunal Shah, an Indian entrepreneur known for his incisive perspectives on business and personal development. Both messages accurately capture the challenges we all have in receiving or taking feedback.

  1. “Insecure people often take feedback personally. People who take feedback personally often get defensive and combative. Defensive and combative feedback takers repel feedback. People who repel feedback have the slowest growth rate.”
  2. “Progress is slower when one focuses more on the tone of the feedback given versus the substance of the feedback. Being offended with the tone of feedback makes the brain reject or ignore the substance.”
