Fear Or Confidence?

fear or confidence

A few days ago, I was in a conversation with my younger son about a decision he was struggling with. He seemed to be torn between two options—one that felt safe and less risky and another that seemed uncomfortable but potentially more rewarding.

My son wanted my advice.

Without directly giving him an easy answer, I asked my son to consider a question- “Are you deciding out of fear or confidence?”

I emphasized the importance of letting confidence guide our choices. Fear-based decisions always lead to regret. I encouraged him to evaluate his emotional state honestly and determine whether fear or confidence was the dominant feeling.

In the end, my son opted for the uncomfortable choice because he knew it was the right one. I’m happy that he made the decision from a place of confidence, and I can see that he’s content with his choice.
