Weekend Story-Enough
December 15, 2025
In a coastal kingdom lived a merchant whose wealth rose and fell with the tides of trade. One summer, he hosted a grand feast on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Nobles, scholars, and travelers gathered to marvel at his riches.
Among them sat an old writer, known not for gold but for a book he had written long ago—a story loved by all ages.
A courtier leaned toward the sage and whispered, “Do you know our host earned more today than your book has earned in your entire life?”
The sage smiled, watching the waves roll in.
“Yes,” he said softly, “but I have something he never will.”
The courtier, puzzled, asked, “And what is that?”
The sage looked at the sea, unhurried, peaceful.
“Enough.”
