Motion Vs Action
March 31, 2026
The difference between motion and action shows up everywhere.
Motion:
- Watching content on how to make better presentations
- Talking about what training you need
- Reading books on negotiation
- Listening to podcasts on investing
- Talking endlessly with friends about your business idea
Action:
- Taking the lead to present at every opportunity
- Signing up for a course and completing it
- Applying ideas in a real negotiation
- Making an actual investment
- Building a prototype with your own money
Motion creates the illusion of productivity. Action is productivity.
Many of us stay in motion longer than we should. It is comfortable. There is no risk.
Action demands emotional effort. You have to step out of your comfort and do something real. That is where things change.
