What Ownership Looks Like
November 5, 2026
Ownership is easy to talk about.
You see it more clearly when something is not moving.
There will always be reasons. Someone has not responded. A dependency is pending. A decision is delayed. Another team has not done what was expected.
All of that may be true.
But ownership shows up in what you do next.
Do you wait to be told what is happening, or do you find out?
Do you keep explaining what is blocking progress, or do you keep working the problem until something moves?
That is where the difference shows up.
Good intentions definitely matter. But they are not enough.
At work, what we really own is visible in our actions.
Ownership is not what we say matters to us. It is how we act when something is stuck.
