This is an idea I picked up from James Clear’s Atomic Habits.

Doing the hard thing is seldom more difficult in terms of daily effort, but it is often more difficult psychologically.

What are some of the hard things we struggle with daily?

  • Thinking long-term and holding on when there is something short-term and immediate beckoning you.
  • Not falling prey to the lure of status and approval when choosing to do anything.
  • Doing what you have to do, trusting that small actions repeated consistently will lead to big results over time.
  • Being open-minded and not letting ego and limiting beliefs influence your actions.

Doing the hard thing is a fight that happens in our mental battlefield. We win every time we choose the hard over the easy and convenient !!.
