As I journeyed through my career, transitioning from an individual performer to a business leader, I had to grapple with a significant hurdle that I had not dealt with before 

How to connect and engage my teammates to the organization’s mission and my own business vision?

I realized that cultivating the art of storytelling was the key. To truly inspire my colleagues, I developed the skill to inspire teammates with stories about the organization, recounting triumphs and trials, successes and failures from the past, and projecting into the future. 

In any team setting, stories create alignment and reinforce culture. I have learned that the best way to create connected and engaged teams is to use the power of stories. People everywhere are not as fascinated by numbers and facts as they are with stories about the organization, products, and customers.
