Helping folks with practical tips to manage themselves better

Game Of Mediocrity

game of mediocrity

If you have ever completed a task for the sole purpose of making yourself look better without any improvement or value being produced for others – your clients, colleagues, teammates, etc., then you are a participant in the game of mediocrity.

Imagine you are writing a proposal, and all you are doing is cutting and pasting from a standard deck without bothering to think about the customer’s situation, issues, and needs; it’s a soulless commitment. You are playing a game of mediocrity.

You accept a meeting request. Instead of committing yourself to participate actively and contributing, you do your own stuff. You are there just to show your face. You are playing a game of mediocrity.

You attend networking events just to hobnob with people and have nothing to contribute; you are playing a game of mediocrity.

You get off the game of mediocrity the moment you consciously focus on delivering value and improvement.

It is good to ask yourself, “What game am I playing daily?”
