Pursuit Of Excellence

Excellence

Pablo Casals (1876–1973) was a Spanish Catalan cellist and conductor renowned for his exceptional contributions to classical music. He was a virtuoso cellist, celebrated for his profound interpretations of Bach’s works, and a key figure in revitalizing interest in the cello as a solo performance instrument.

When he was 93, someone asked him why he still practiced the cello for three hours daily. Pablo Casals delivered a memorable response-“Because I think I’m making progress.”

Pablo Casals’ words capture the essence of mastery — practice. Whether it be music or any other pursuit, continuous practice is the key to excellence. Improvement doesn’t age, nor does the significance of putting in the work.

Practicing isn’t just about getting perfect; it’s the way to keep moving forward, regardless of your age or stage in life. The pursuit of excellence never ends if you are willing and able.
