The Irony
January 25, 2024
If you desire to be good at something, writing, leading, managing- you tend to focus on the “being good” part. The irony, though, is that you can become good at something only if you are willing and okay with being bad at that something.
I know this from personal experience. When I look back at my writing from before I started daily blogging, it was wordy, incoherent, and awkward. But I kept at it, and over time, I improved my ability to express my thoughts and ideas in writing.
The same process applies to any skill or talent you wish to develop- writing, golf, music, selling, leading, or creating.
That’s the irony-You will not get good unless you are willing to be bad.
