Moving On
September 19, 2026
PSome problems end in reality long before they end in our minds.
Was in a conversation with a friend this morning who had gone through a difficult relationship issue. What had happened was already over. But he was still replaying it, reliving the conversations, feeling the same hurt again and again.
So I told him what I believe.
Feel bad. Process the pain. Give it the time it deserves.
But at some point, learn to move on.
Because the event is no longer taking your time. You are.
Every hour spent replaying something that has already happened is an hour taken away from the life that is still happening now.
That is why I think moving on is a skill.
Not forgetting. Not pretending it did not hurt. Not denying what happened.
Just learning when there is nothing more to be gained from carrying it.
Feel it. Learn from it. Then let it go.
Sometimes, the real skill is knowing when to stop carrying something that is already over. Perhaps that is what moving on really means.
