Weekend Story-The Contented Mouse
October 6, 2024
A mouse once found himself lowered into a large jar filled with grains. He looked around, eyes gleaming, delighted by the abundance surrounding him. With no need to scurry around searching for food, he thought, “This is perfect! I can live here forever.”
Days passed in bliss as he nibbled on the grains, never thinking of anything beyond the jar. But eventually, the stock dwindled. As he ate his way lower and lower, he suddenly realized that he was no longer enjoying the freedom he once had. He had reached the bottom of the jar.
Now, he was trapped. There was no way to climb out. With no more food within his reach, he had to wait for someone to drop more grains into the jar to keep him alive.
He found himself dependent on whatever came his way. He could no longer choose what to eat or when to eat. The food that once seemed like endless comfort was now just a reminder of his confinement.
