The Value Of Stepping Away
March 7, 2025
I was working on a proposal that needed to be razor-sharp, one that would clearly show how our solution could address a very specific client challenge. I had a solid grasp of the idea and how to structure it, but the moment I started writing, I hit a wall. No matter how many iterations I went through, nothing felt right.
After an hour of going in circles, I decided to step away and revisit it later. When I came back after a break, the entire proposal took shape in just 15–20 minutes–smooth, precise, and exactly as I wanted it to be.
When we reach an impasse in the creative process, forcing our way through isn’t always the answer. Sometimes, the best way forward is to step away, create space, and let clarity emerge…….
Just as it did for me.
