Opportunities Or Distractions?
January 28, 2026
Participating in networking events when your product is not ready.
Pitching to a faraway market when you are still small in your core one.
Exploring partnerships before you have mastered the art of selling.
Starting a new product instead of strengthening the one you already have.
Helping someone in your most productive hour when you are behind on your own commitments.
The most dangerous items on my to-do list, I have realised from experience, are the ones that look like opportunities but are actually distractions.
Focus is not about saying no to bad things.
It is about saying no to very good things that are not yours to do.
That is where most people quietly lose their edge.
