Avoid The Two Happiness Traps

Happiness Traps

A reminder to myself as I go into the weekend.

Avoid these two happiness traps.

One- Don’t try to please others through your actions. It’s futile. It’s not your job. To each his own. Everyone’s satisfaction is in their own hands. So instead, focus on your own happiness and well-being.

Two-Don’t expect others to be happy about what you do. Their opinions and reactions are beyond your control. Stay true to yourself and pursue what brings you joy.
Remember, attempting to please everyone is a never-ending battle. People have their own diverse preferences, perspectives, and expectations. What makes one person happy may not resonate with another. It’s exhausting to constantly seek validation and approval from others, as it often means compromising your values and desires.

Moreover, relying on others’ happiness as a measure of your own can be a recipe for a big disappointment. People have their own lives, challenges, and priorities. Their reactions may be influenced by factors completely unrelated to your actions. Placing too much emphasis on their approval will only frustrate and dishearten you.

Instead, prioritize your own happiness and well-being. Take the time to reflect on what truly brings you joy and fulfillment. Engage in activities that align with your values and interests without worrying about how others might perceive them. Be with people who support and uplift you, knowing their happiness is not dependent on your actions.
