Success Follows The Process

Follow the process

I and a colleague were in a performance-related discussion this afternoon, and the topic veered towards process orientation and consistency. We all say success always follows a plan and process. If this were so easy, everyone would be successful. The fact is, we all struggle. Why?

The answer lies in a single word: discipline.

Putting yourself in a position for success by following a process once in a while is simple. Doing it day in and day out is hard. Anyone can do something occasionally, but only some can do it consistently.

The hardest part is the discipline required to consistently follow some simple but effective processes for an extended period, even when the results are barely noticeable.

When people say you must follow the process consistently, they mean this: Can you follow it even when it feels hard? Can you follow the process even when others stop? Can you work on the process long enough to let it compound? Can you follow the process when the results aren’t visible just because you know it’s the right thing to do?

When we follow simple processes with uncommon consistency, extraordinary results follow. Success always follows the process !!
