Be Reliable

I live by a simple life mantra and expect the same from others who engage with me – be reliable in whatever you do.

Reliability is a character trait that ensures people around you know what to expect. It’s an underrated but essential trait. No one will appreciate it if you have it, but if you don’t, everyone will notice. Reliability requires no talent or luck; it’s simply about showing up, doing the work, and delivering without surprises.

Many believe being exceptional is the key to getting noticed, but being exceptional is not just about you; it’s also about standing out amongst others. Striving to be exceptional is hard, especially in the short run. On the other hand, being reliable is easy. Consistently being reliable will make you exceptional over time.

When you are reliable, you can go far in life because people can count on you to show up and get the job done.
