Weekend Story-Six Blind Men

six blind men

In a small village, a group of blind men heard about a strange creature called an elephant. Curious, they decided to touch it and learn what it was like.

One man reached out and touched the elephant’s trunk. “It’s like a thick snake!” he exclaimed.

Another felt the elephant’s side. “No, it’s like a wall!”, he insisted.

A third touched a leg and said, “You’re both wrong; it’s like a sturdy tree.”

The fourth man held the elephant’s ear and declared, “It’s a big fan!”

A fifth man touched the tusk and claimed, “It’s like a sharp spear!”

The last man touched the tail and said, “It’s like a rope!”

As they debated, each was convinced they were right, unable to see that they only grasped part of the truth.

Just then, a wise passerby overheard them. With a gentle smile, he said, “You each feel only a part. The elephant is much bigger than any one of you can imagine.”

The blind men paused, realizing their limited perspectives.
