Freedom Of Solitude

Freedom of solitude

Came across this powerful line by Schopenhauer in a blog post on Farnam Street…“He who does not enjoy solitude will not love freedom.”

So true.

Freedom isn’t just about having choices, time, or independence. It’s also about finding peace within yourself, free from distractions and the constant need for companionship.

I often think about this when my kids say they are bored. Perhaps what they’re experiencing is simply the discomfort of being alone with their own thoughts.

But solitude isn’t emptiness. It’s space. It’s a form of freedom that blossoms when you become comfortable in your own company.
