The Quiet Power Of Intimacy
November 7, 2025
I’m in Bangalore this week for a leadership program designed to help our leadership team align on a shared vision and chart the path forward for the organization.
At its core, the program aims to break barriers and build stronger chemistry within the team—because when leaders operate with openness and trust, execution becomes sharper and outcomes stronger.
There was one interesting takeaway for me.
As part of the agenda, we were split into small huddles to share personal stories—our backgrounds, pivotal life moments, dreams, fears, values, and beliefs. The conversations were raw, honest, and deeply human.
Later in the day came a tougher exercise: calling each other out on behavioral gaps in areas such as collaboration, problem-solving, trust, and strategic orientation. It could have been very uncomfortable, but it wasn’t—because the earlier exercise had already built a bridge of intimacy.
When people connect on a deeply personal level, feedback stops feeling like criticism and begins to become fuel for collective growth.
Intimacy, after all, is one of the core foundations of trust.
