You’re Not Failing, You’re Refining
November 5, 2025
Recently, I was reviewing a couple of agendas that haven’t quite panned out as planned. Obviously, there’s disappointment when things don’t work out the way you expect. However, I’ve devised a straightforward approach to manage such moments.
Don’t take it personally.
Observe. Evaluate. Adjust. Try differently.
Every attempt is just data.
Every miss, a clue.
Once you start looking at outcomes this way, failure loses its sting. You stop seeing it as a setback and start seeing it as feedback.
Most progress comes from figuring out why something isn’t working, drawing clarity from it, and acting on what you’ve learned.
Bottom line-You’re not failing. You’re refining.
