Weekend Story-Serve Yourself
December 21, 2025
Layla used to wait for her manager to notice she was overwhelmed. He rarely did, and she felt unseen, resentful.
One day, exhausted, she stopped expecting rescue and instead created her own boundary: “I can take three projects, not seven. Here’s why. Here’s the impact. Here’s what I’ll deliver if we prioritize.”
Her manager blinked, then said, “Yes. Do that.”
Layla sat there stunned. All this time, she’d been starving quietly to prove loyalty and commitment, waiting for someone else to feed her limits.
That day she served herself.
