Owning The Call
January 13, 2026
Most of us unconsciously desire influence without ownership. Titles without accountability. Opinions without consequences.
That’s understandable. Responsibility is heavy. It asks you to decide, to commit, and to live with outcomes you can’t fully control and consequences you may not like.
But the moment you choose to step up, to decide, to commit, and to stand by outcomes, you begin to operate in a different league.
In a world rushing toward automation, AI, and outsourcing, execution is becoming cheap. Machines will do more of it, faster and better. What remains scarce is judgment. The ability to decide when the answer isn’t obvious and to make a call before all the facts are in.
Those who are willing to take responsibility and be comfortable absorbing the pain of consequences they don’t like will always be in demand.
