Weekend Story-Matter Of Perception
July 8, 2024
A traveling performer arrived in a small town one sunny afternoon to set up his act at the town square. The children gathered, eyes wide with anticipation, as the performer launched into a series of feats. They watched in awe as the performer juggled flaming torches, expertly wielded a boomerang, and, as a final act, walked across a thin plank he put up between the two tallest buildings at the town square.
“How is he able to do that? “ the children whispered amongst themselves.
After this final dazzling display, the performer lowered the plank to the ground, inviting the children to try for themselves. Tentatively, one by one, they crossed the plank with ease.
The performer addressed the children with a knowing smile: “The plank is the same. When I walked it high above, it seemed very difficult, right? But you, my friends, simply walked across. The plank itself didn’t change, only your perception of it.”
